Hyderabad: 2 arrested for refilling LPG mini cylinders

Hyderabad: A Mangalhat police team with the assistance of civil supplies officers conducted raids at Takkerwadi area of Dhoolpet in Mangalhat and arrested two persons for refilling gas into mini cylinders from domestic LPG cylinders illegally.

The arrested were identified as M. Tuljaram, 19, and Makadia Nitin Kumar, 37, both residents of Mangalhat, said the police. “Refilling of gas into small cylinders from gas cylinders involves a risk to human life and property, and is an offence under Essential Commodities Act and Explosives Act,” said Mangalhat police inspector R. Srinivas Reddy. Officials seized two LPG cylinders belonging to HP, 49 mini- cylinders, three re-fillers and two weighing machines from the accused.
