Andhra Pradesh: Protect children's rights, urges DGP Sambasiva Rao

Vijayawada: Director General of Police Nanduri Sambasiva Rao said that it is the responsibility of each and every citizen to build a society sans violence, which is safe for children He was speaking at a programme held marking the International Child Rights Day at Siddhartha Auditorium on Monday. He appreciated the efforts of the ‘Forum For Child Rights ( FFCR)’ of Vijayawada, which brought together social and government organisations, working for the welfare of children and protection of their rights, under one umbrella.

“Children are too stressed out at a very early age in their life and this will have an adverse effect on their future. Every parent has to think of it,” he suggested. He congratulated FFCR on its 20th anniversary and the childline 1098 for completing 15 years of establishment in Vijayawada. VMC mayor Koneru Sridhar also emphasised FFCR and the childline were saving many children from falling victims to violence. Women’s commissioner chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari said that parents should not discriminate between a boy and girl. S. Bala Showry, vice-president, FFCR, Noel Harper, secretary, FFCR, B.S. Koteswararao, treasurer, Ramesh, Childline in-charge, Auto Union leaders, children of various schools were present.
