“We have to put a stop to this falsehood. I believe it is gone on for long. Whether it causes loss of revenue to Puducherry or Tamil Nadu it is a revenue loss to the country, besides corrupting our systems. Please look into this matter urgently and bar and ban these,” Bedi in an official communication to the transport commissioner said. Amala Paul bought her S class Mercedes Benz worth Rs 1.12 crore on August 4.  “Cost of car is Rs 1.12 crore. Tax in Kerala is Rs 20 lakh. Tax for the same is Rs 1.12 lakh only in Puducherry. Nearly 20 fold less in Pdy.

Why such less tax for outsiders?
How many more film stars have bought cars here?  More than revenue loss, forgery, impersonation and cheating are prima facie seen in this case. She availed existing rates (may be) by fabricating  records”, said Ms Bedi in her tweets. Also, the address given for the car is a person who claims to be a relative of Amala. Kerala government and transport department officials have initiated action for tax evasion there. Malayalam film actor Fahadh Faasil's Benz E Class, which is worth Rs 70 lakh, was also reportedly registered in Puducherry.
