Rajahmundry: The last rites of martyred CRPF head constable Kolla Venkanna, 43, were performed with full state honours at Sompalli burial grounds at Podalada of Razole mandal in East Godavari on Monday.The head constable was killed in a landmine blast triggered by the Maoists during a combing operation in the deep forests at Sukma district of Chhattisgarh in the early hours on Sunday. His body was brought to his home village late on Sunday. Amalapuram MP Pandula Ravindra Babu, CRPF Hyderabad range DIG Sandeep Yadav, Amalapuram RDO B. Ramana and others paid their last respects. The head constable is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
