Vijayawada: Doctors of the Kamineni Hospitals, Vijayawada, saved two critical patients suffering from complex cardiac conditions by performing minimally invasive cardiac surgeries (MICS).

Kamineni Hospitals senior cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Vishal Khante said Kuricheti Lakshmi Naga Venkateswara Rao, 54, hailing from Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, underwent a minimally invasive off-pump CABG surgery. Similarly, Ketharju Aruna Rao, 53, of Penamaluru, Vijayawada district, AP, went through a surgery of the MVR.

Both surgeries have been successful and the patients are now on their way to full recovery.

Dr. Khante explained that MICS is a highly advanced surgical technique that involves performing complex heart surgeries through small incisions, instead of open heart surgeries. MICS surgeries offer several benefits over traditional surgeries, including faster recovery times, less scarring, reduced risk of infection, and lower overall healthcare costs, allowing patients to quickly return to their normal activities.

Dr. Bharath B., senior cardiothoracic surgeon, and Dr. M.S.N. Pavan Kumar and Dr. M.V. Kalyan, senior interventional cardiologists said their team is highly trained and experienced in performing such complex surgeries.
