Once in the top list of comedians in the Telugu film industry, Venu Madhav has not been seen in many films of late.

“I decided not to do roles which are filled with double-meaning dialogues. Hence, the number of films I work in has come down,” explains the comedian, while adding that he is still getting many offers. “Yes, I am still approached for many films, but I am choosy,” he says.

At his film’s promotional event on Tuesday, the actor cleared all rumours about his health and finances.

“Some media people declared me ‘dead’, which hurt me and following which, I submitted a memorandum to the government to take action against those people,” he revealed, adding, “Because I am a celebrity, they chose me. If they write on some other person, it may not be news.”

Dismissing all doubts about his health, the actor said, “I am in perfect condition and don’t have any health issues.” He added that four to five films of his are ready to hit the screens soon.

Responding to rumours that he is in the financial doldrums after his production Premabhishekam bombed, Venu Madhav said, “Whatever money I put on the film, I recovered through the satellite rights. Apart from that, I sold out the film to many areas and got profits.” He added that the film’s budget was only '70 lakh.

“I am financially well settled and don’t have any problem for money. I have few houses in Moula Ali and a farmhouse near Film Nagar. I also have a ten-acre land in my village near Karimnagar, which is my in-laws place,” he revealed.
Further, he shared that he had two school-going kids.

“I have made arrangements for them too as I have kept some money in their names. This way, they don’t have to depend on anyone. Till Intermediate, I can look after them; after that, their studies will be looked after by the insurance company,” he confirmed.
