The Kashmiri girl says music has transformed her completely.

Having crooned several numbers from films like Vikramasimha, OK Bangaram, 24, Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo, Cheliyaa, etc., Shashaa Tirupati is glad that her latest number Yanthara Lokapu from 2.0 (starring Rajinikanth) is an instant earworm. “The song is catchy and has an appealing tune. It has turned out to be a chartbuster. I guess my love for Telugu songs is growing each day. The language is different and I think it’s the simplest in the South. Whenever I sing, people around help me understand the meaning so that I can express better,” shares the playback singer.

Shashaa shot to fame when she crooned the remix version of the Humma Humma track from OK Jaanu, and subsequently sang in Mohanjodaro and Sarabjit. Having been associated with A.R. Rahman for several years, Shashaa says the legendary musician is a class apart. “What makes Rahman a great character is that he takes inspiration from wherever he can — be it kids, newspapers, nature, etc. It is a great quality for a musician,” says Shashaa, who’ll be performing with Rahman at a concert on November 26 in Hyderabad. The Kashmiri girl says music has transformed her completely. “I have changed several jobs, but music has always been an integral part of my life.  I was an introvert, but music has helped me shed my inhibitions.”
