The announcement that director Blessy was making a film by the same name, based on Benyamin’s novel Aadujeevitham, with Prithviraj in the lead, created a buzz. Then came a long silence from the makers. There was even talk that the ambitious film had gone into limbo.

But Blessy had the last laugh with a huge announcement to make and it cannot get bigger than this. It turns out that world renowned Oscar winner A.R. Rahman will be returning to Mollywood after 25 years by composing  music for Aadujeevitham. Incidentally, Rahman’s last composition was for the Mohanlal-starrer Yodha. The cat was let out of the bag by Rahman himself at a press conference in Dubai.

Confirming the news, Blessy first says, “The scale of this film is universal and is beyond the barriers of region and language.” Blessy continues. “It is very rare that the sufferings, longings, loneliness, hope and spirituality of a person is highlighted to this level.

“So, along with those facets, the music too is as important in setting the different moods. The music I needed had to traverse different levels and that music would need to align with silences. That was a tall order and I could not think of anybody, but Rahman to compose the score.”

Blessy adds that more than dialogues, the stress would be on the emotions and the long silences of the protagonist as music would be his constant companion. Blessy reveals that Rahman completely understood the requirement and is very excited about composing the score for the film.
