A semi-finalist on the second season of The Stage, Raghav Meattle is a young singer-songwriter, who aims to give music his all. Raghav recently moved from Bengaluru to Mumbai to pursue music, after he realised during the course of his show, that this is where his heart lay. Currently, Raghav is performing his simple and catchy music across India. We take a look at some of his musical favourites:

One song you have on repeat on your iPod: I've been listening to Amerika by Young the Giant on repeat lately. The song was written about the political environment in America, but I think it resonates with everybody worldwide too.

The soundtrack of your life would contain: Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Last Resort by Papa Roach, Take a Look Around by Lipm Bizkit, John Mayer's Waiting on the World to Change, and Karnivool’s All I Know. I’ve been most inspired by these tracks, and these are all by my favourite artistes. I grew up listening to these and possibly why I’m a musician today.

Music you loved as a kid or a teenager, and you’re now embarrassed by when you think back: I used to listen to a lot of Avril Lavigne and Shania Twain when I was growing up, which can be quite embarrassing to tell people about especially because I was a metalhead too!

You would describe your taste in music as: I like a particular vibe to the music I listen to — generally anything calm and chill. Genres specifically would be very hard to define but I've been listening to a lot of singer-songwriters off late.

Your favourite time/way to listen to music during the day is: I'm always listening to music but most of the time it’s either in transit or the first thing in the morning while making breakfast and going for a shower.

One band or musician that you would like to perform a private concert for you: John Mayer. I just want to sit in front of his guitar and listen to everything he does with it up close.

One live act you would love to see at least once in your life: Red Hot Chili Peppers. I don’t think they're coming to India at any point so it'll have to be travelling to another country, but I’ll defi make it happen.
