KOCHI: Actor Dileep is set to appear through video conferencing before the judicial first class magistrate, Aluva, on Tuesday, in connection with the actor abduction and assault case. The Special Investigation Team probing the case has decided to present him this way as his current remand period will end on Tuesday. Dileep had earlier appeared before the magistrate through video conferencing on July 25 when his remand period was extended. The actor is currently lodged in Aluva sub-jail.

The SIT sought video conferencing for his appearance citing security reasons and is citing the same again for repeating the same method. Meanwhile, jail officials have denied reports that the actor is unwell and had received special treatment inside the jail. An official said that a doctor was taken to the prison when he complained about ear fluid imbalance over a week ago and was given medicine.

The official also said that close to 100 CCTV cameras are functioning inside the jail which have not recorded any undue favour being given to Dileep. He said that a theft case convict is believed to be behind spreading this canard but he had never seen Dileep. The allegation was that Dileep spent most of the days inside the jail superintendent’s room and was served special food.
