Soundarya and Ashwin Ramkumar to separate soon?

Well well, this comes as a shocker to many of us! According to reliable sources, Thalaivar’s second daughter Soundarya and husband Ashwin Ramkumar have filed for divorce at the family court. The couple have apparently been having a difference of opinion for a few years now — and have ultimately decided to separate, after trying their best to resolve those problems.

Soundarya, who was instrumental in bringing Pa Ranjith to direct her dad for Kabali, married Ashwin, an industrialist, in 2010 in Chennai. The couple knew each other for about four years before their marriage. Soundarya and Ashwin have a son, Ved who turned one, just a few months back.

Rajinikanth, who was back from the US after his kidney transplant, visited Soundarya and stayed with her for a few days. It is said that during that period, the Superstar had tried to pacify his daughter to go for a compromise. But somehow, she didn’t pay heed to her dad’s advice and decided to go ahead with a legal separation from Ashwin.

When Ashwin was asked about what to make of the issue, he reportedly stated that he couldn’t comment on the issue — instead of an yes or no. Starting off as a graphic designer initially, Soundarya went on to direct Kochadaiiyaan — India’s first motion capture film, with Rajinikanth in the lead role.

She has also been very supportive of her elder sister Aishwarya Dhanush — and is known for being very articulate and vocal about women’s issues.
