Tamil Nadu: Film artistes to take part in inauguration of memorial

Through his movies has done so much for Tamil culture and Tamil language.

Chennai: Following requests from family members and  fans of the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, political leaders and Nadigar Sangam that CM and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam should inaugurate the memorial, Palaniswami on Friday said his deputy would declare open the building at Adyar in the city on October 1 to commemorate with the birth anniversary of the thespian. 

Sivaji's younger son and actor Prabhu said, “Sivaji Ganesan has done so much to Tamil cinema and achieved several honors. Through his movies has done so much for Tamil culture and Tamil language. Appa's memorial was Purachi Thalaivai Amma's dream project. It is coming to reality now. Since CM has said that he is out on prior commitment and now deputed deputy CM OPS, I am happy and thankful to him.”

Besides, fisheries minister Jayakumar and information minister Kadambur Raju are expected to attend the function.  

Reacting to a query to if Rajini and Kamal would participate at the event, Prabhu said, “We have invited them and I wish they take part on the occasion. I also want all those who love Sivaji to attend the inauguration. Vishal has also made his efforts and requested all artistes to participate at the event.”
