Nasscom to launch Centre for Excellence in Telangana

The Centre for Excellence (CoE) is all set to come up in IIIT campus in Hyderabad.

To boost the advanced technologies like data science and AI, the Centre for Excellence (CoE) is all set to come up in IIIT campus in Hyderabad in the next two months.

Hyderabad: To boost the advanced technologies like data science and AI, the Centre for Excellence (CoE) is all set to come up in IIIT campus in Hyderabad in the next two months. An MoU  in this regard has been signed between the Telangana government and Nasscom India on Tuesday on the side-lines of the World Congress of IT (WCIT).

The CoE will be set up on a public private partnership model. It will be shifted to Budwel IT Park once it is operational. It is being setup with an investment of about Rs 40crore. Speaking on the occassion, Telangana IT minister K.T. Rama Rao said “Data has perennial problem of 3Vs namely – volume, variety and velocity. While there are humongous volumes of data available, there is a variety of data sets avai-lable and the speed at which data is being generated is challenge. So it is imperative to make something meaningful if data is considered as currency or oil today.”
