Bollywood has always been open to south remakes. Reports suggesting AR Murugadoss’s Tamil film Kaththi will be remade in Hindi with either Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar reprising the role of Vijay has been doing the rounds for quite some time now.

After Murugadoss moved on to his woman-centric film Akira with Sonakshi Sinha, the remake of Kaththi was said to be put on hold. Now that the director is about to wrap up his Hindi project, reports about Kaththi’s remake are surfacing once again. We recently wrote that Chiranjeevi’s milestone 150th T’town film is likely to be a remake of Kaththi, which will be directed by V.V. Vinayak.

Similarly, speculations run high that Murugadoss, who had collaborated with Akshay Kumar for the film Holiday, that is itself a remake of the director’s blockbuster film Thuppaki, will soon start the B’town version of Kaththi. Close sources say that Murugadoss is roping in one of his associates from Hindi film industry to direct the movie.
