YSRC yet to cash in on its popularity for polls

Hyderabad was developed during YSR rule, says Srinivas Reddy.
Hyderabad: Despite the presence of a considerable number of Seemandhra voters in Hyderabad, the YSR Congress and its chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy have failed to prepare the ground for victory in at least a few of the GHMC divisions.
Mr Reddy has embarked on a week-long tour to Anantapur, at a time the GHMC election notification is expected to be issued and campaigning will enter a crucial phase.
Though Mr Reddy’s sister Y.S. Sharmila is touring the city, the party has neither any strategy in place nor has it any leader in the city who can ensure victory in a few divisions, despite the Seemandhra and minority vote.
YSRC TS president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said, “We have identified 38 divisions where we are strong. There are a lot of YSRC fans in Hyderabad. We have a strong base among Muslims too. Our party Hyderabad president Adam Vijay Kumar and Ranga Reddy district president Suresh are working on this. We are going to finalise the list after notification of polls. Top party leaders would campaign.”
“Hyderabad was developed during YSR rule and there is huge response to our party,” Mr Srinivas Reddy said.
However, a party leader said, “We don’t have leaders who can run the show in the city. Jagan is touring Anantapur for farmers. The others are way ahead of us.”
