Madhumitha who was last seen in Biryani in K’town, is making a comeback after a brief hiatus with the movie Buddhan Yesu Gandhi (BYG), which is directed by debutant Vettrivel Chandrashekar. The movie revolves around a prisoner awaiting execution and actor Kishore essays the protagonist in it. Actor Ashok and Vasundhara Kashyap will be seen as journalists in the film. The latter plays a bold journo, who makes all attempts to save the life of the prisoner awarded death penalty by mistake. “It’s a solid role and I have done few action sequences as well,” Madhumitha says.
She will be seen in the role of a social activist who fights to bring about a change in society. Madhu adds, “I took noted political activist Arundhati Roy as my role model to pull off my character in BYG. I watched many videos and speeches of hers and to observe the body language of an activist.”
Recently, the director shot a scene at a specially erected set, where Madhumitha and Kishore were part of a debate in a TV channel. A source from the unit said that Madhumitha started crying without a glycerin, and that her emotional portrayal was appreciated when she was saying her dialogues about few problems faced by the people.
