6 killed, 20 injured on New Year in Telangana

Two youth died in Mahabubnagar, while four persons died in Nalgonda.
Hyderabad: As many as six persons died in accidents and nearly 20 people suffered injuries across the state on the New Year day.
Two youth died in Mahabubnagar, while four persons died in Nalgonda and 15 people travelling in an Auto trolley were injured in Adilabad and nearly five youth injured in Nalgonda.
Two youth E.Khasim and R. Prakash died in an accident in Vangur in Mahabubnagar when the bikes they were riding rammed into each other, while they were returning home after attending New year celebrations. In Nalgonda, two cousins, who came out to purchase chicken on New year day met with an accident and died on the spot.
Meanwhile, a couple met with an accident at Choutuppal of Nalgonda, where husband M. Krishna Murthy died and his wife Eshwaramma was severely injured. In another incident at Choutuppal in Nalgonda, N Janardhan Rao died after he was hit by an over speeding bike, when he was crossing the road on Friday morning.
Nearly 15 devotees injured after the auto in which they were travelling overturned at at Bellampalli in Adilabad district. Three of them are said to be critical. Meanwhile, nearly five youth suffered minor injuries, when their bike skid and they fell down in various parts of Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district.
2 killed in road accident on New Year
Two youths returning home from New Year celebrations died and three others suffered severe injuries in an accident in Mahabubnagar district on Thursday midnight. The mishap occurred when one bike was hit by another bike coming from the opposite direction on Vangur to Kalwakurthy Road.
Police said that E. Khasim, 22 and K. Harish, both residents of Vangur went to Kalwakurthy to attend the New Year celebrations with friends. They were returning home on their bike. Khasim was riding and Harish was riding pillion. Meanwhile, R. Prakash 18, G. Anand, S. Shiva Kumar and M. Prashanth Kumar, all students were going to Kalwakurthy on one bike.
“When they came to Kalwakurthy X roads, Prakash who was riding the bike lost control and rammed into the bike of Khasim and Harish,” said Vangur SI, Naresh Kumar.
Prakash died on the spot and Khasim succumbed while being shifted to hospital. Others were also shifted to hospital. Prashanth whose condition is critical was shifted to a private hospital at Hyderabad for better treatment.
