There was widespread speculation that Vijay would star in the remake of Mannan, the yesteryear Rajinikanth film directed by P Vasu. Social media was abuzz with the news that KS Ravikumar will helm this project, which will be bankrolled by Sivaji Productions. However, when DC contacted, actor-producer Prabhu of Sivaji Productions, quashed it as a rumour.
He said, “I don’t know how this speculation cropped up. We have no such plans in the pipeline.” There were similar rumours which surfaced earlier too about Vijay remaking Rajinikanth’s film. We have heard that the runaway hit Moondru Mugham which released three decades ago would be remade with Vijay reprising the characters essayed by the Superstar.
