Reham Khan gets Rs 100 million defamation notice

Notice by Advocate Tariq Mehmood Jahangiris has sought a written and unconditional apology
Islamabad: Dr Ijaz Rehman, former husband of Reham Khan — who recently also divorced Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan — has sent her a legal notice amounting to Rs 100 million for defamation.
Dr Ijaz Rehman sent her a Rs 100 million legal notice and demanded a written apology within a fortnight for allegedly damaging his reputation.
The notice by Advocate Tariq Mehmood Jahangiris has sought a written and unconditional apology, clarifications in media and Rs 100 million as ‘damages’ for causing him mental strain, agony, discomfort, insult, anxiety, inconvenience and damage to his repute.
London-based psychiatrist Dr Rehman, who married Reham Khan in 1992 and divorced her in 2007, stated that his ex-wife’s media interviews resulted in an economic loss to him as he lost his employment as a direct consequence.
The notice has directed the broadcast journalist to meet the demands within 14 days of the notice or she will have to face court case.
