Will Enthiran 2 be India’s costliest film?

The film’s budget is speculated to be a whopping Rs 400 crores
We earlier reported that Rajinikanth was off to the US for the costume trial for his upcoming Shankar-directed Enthiran 2, which is a sequel to their earlier movie together. The Superstar who was accompanied by his daughter Aishwarya and Raju Mahalingam from Lyca Productions to Los Angeles was said to have completed his task and back in the city on Monday. He immediately flew to Goa to shoot for his upcoming film Kabali.
Meanwhile, Raju Mahalingam confirmed the project on his FB pages. He wrote, “With our LYCA group chairman Mr. Allirajah Subaskaran, the visionary who has decided to make our upcoming Superstar's Project as India’s biggest one!!!! Magic to begin very soon!!!!". If sources were to be believed, an official announcement about Enthiran 2 would be made on December 12 on Rajini’s birthday when he turns 65. Shankar is expected to finalise his entire cast and crew after the official release. With Raju hinting that Enthiran 2 would be India’s biggest movie, speculation about the budget has already started running high. Shankar’s penchant for grandeur being known, if Arnold Schwarzenegger agrees to be part of the movie and a crew comprising of Oscar winner AR Rahman and some of the biggest Hollywood names is assembled, the film’s budget is speculated to be a whopping Rs 400 crores and thus touted to be India’s costliest movie ever made. Amy Jackson is collaborating with Rajini in the film. Watch this space for more details.
