MLC elections: Phone recording stings TRS MLA, heard luring CPM members

B. Madanlal asked the husband of a local level leader not to stop his wife from joining TRS

Khammam: Purported audio tapes of TRS legislator B. Madanlal asking the husband of a local level leader not to stop his wife from joining the ruling party were released here on Monday.

The release of the tapes comes ahead of the elections to the Legislative Council from the local bodies quota, with parties scrambling for votes. The tapes were released by Mr Bandaru Satyanarayana, husband of Ms B. Nagalaxmi, member of the Konigerla-2 mandal parishad territorial committee.

According to Mr Satyanarayana, the TRS legislator from Wyra told him over phone not create a scene about his wife joining the TRS. The call was recorded and the tapes were released to the media by Mr Satyanarayana.

In the purported conversation, Mr Madanlal is heard telling Mr Satyanarayana: “Do you think I am unaware; I know everything. I will address your problems.” Mr Satyanarayana replied that he had some problems and he would not take a decision till they were solved. The MLA replied, “You are playing dramas and not opening your mind…”

Meanwhile, some MPTC members alleged that the TRS had announced in Hyderabad that they were joining the party without consulting them. Mr Daravath Bujji, MPTC member of Bajumallaigudem and Mr Bhukya Babu of Viswanathapalli said that they were asked to come to Hyderabad to discuss development works in their area by Mr Madanlal
