CM Chandrababu Naidu digging up secret YSR GOs

YSR government had issued 1,062 GOs up to September 2, 2009

Hyderabad: To counter the YSRC’s attacks on the Telugu Desam government in the matter of issuing confidential government orders, the state government is digging up the secret edicts issued by the previous Congress dispensations, particularly those when Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy was Chief Minister.

The government’s online portal was started in 2005 by Dr Rajasekhar Reddy’s administration. The first confidential GO was issued on February 7, 2008, by the YSR government. In all, Congress governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh issued 4,363 confidential GOs up to February 19, 2014, the day Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned as Chief Minister.

Of these, the YSR government had issued 1,062 GOs up to September 2, 2009, the day he died in a helicopter crash. The confidential GOs were issued by the finance, revenue, home, agriculture and animal husbandry departments of the Congress governments apart from the general adminstration department. Some some confidential GOs were issued even when the undivided state was under President’s Rule.

The TD government under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has so far issued 734 confidential GOs in 18 months. Following Mr Naidu’s directions, GAD officials are preparing a report on confidential GOs issued by the previous Congress governments.
