Beef not compulsary in Islam: Faiz Khan

Mangaluru: Declaring that the various statements on beef ban were aimed at respective vote banks, lecturer turned ‘kathavachak,’ Mohd Faiz Khan said Muslims have held cow milk party as an alternative to beef party after the ‘beef ban,’ controversy.

He was in Mangaluru on Saturday to deliver his famous ‘Gau Katha,’ organised by Yuva Brigade at Sanghanikethan. He said the statements on beef ban were not concerned either about Islam or Sanathana Dharma.

Speaking about beef and liquor ban, he suggested the government to provide alternative livelihood to those who lose jobs due to these bans.

“There is a need to protect and preserve India’s cattle wealth with conviction than a hardcore Hindu chauvinist,” he said.

He referred to various books and studies by scholars to state that beef was not compulsory in Islam and also to declare the importance of vegetarian food.
