Mumbai: After Milkha Singh, Mary Kom and Mohammad Azharuddin, tennis ace Sania Mirza is next in line to have her story told on the big screen. A biopic on the Hyderabad tennis sensation is in the works and shooting is likely to start in December.
The film that is reportedly being shot by director Farah Khan, will have Bollywood starlet Parineeti Chopra play the lead. The actress, who has not bagged a film deal since her last flick ‘Kill Dill’, was Sania’s first choice for the film. In an interview with DC, when asked who she thought was best suited to play her? “Parineeti Chopra,” Sania said.
The biopic will be based on Sania’s autobiography, which is scheduled to be in the stores next month. However, reports state that the launch could be delayed yet again.
“I don’t know when it will be out,” Sania says. “Every time it goes into editing, something new happens in my life/career, forcing me to add another chapter,” she said in an interview with DC.
Sania was spotted leaving for Hyderabad last evening with Parineeti. The actress will be shadowing the tennis ace for a while before she jumps onto the court to play her.
