CM Chandrasekhar Rao invokes gods for chandi yagam

Mr Rao performed special rituals along with his family members

Hyderabad: With just less than a month left for performing Ayutha Mahachandi Yagam, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is keeping himself busy with planning and supervising the arrangements for the grand event near his farmhouse at Errav-elli on the city outskirts.

A 20-acre site has been identified near his farmhouse to perform the five-day yagam without any break from December 23 to 27. He performed special rituals along with his family members on Thursday at the site seeking divine blessings for the smooth and successful conduct of the event. Recently, Mr Rao had said it is very difficult to conduct this maha yagam as it requires great organisational skills.

Some 6,000 priests and seers are being roped in across the country for the purpose, who will perform the yagam in shifts for five days. Dismissing the criticism of Opposition for spending public money for yagam, he said a few like-minded donors with belief in the God came forward to fund the event.
