Uneven rains leave crops dry in Warangal

Only 498.6 mm of rainfall was registered

Warangal: The state government announced 231 mandals that are tagged drought hit in the state. Out of which 11 were named from the district. Farmers say uneven rainfall is the major cause of concern for them which left their crops dry. In Warangal, Station Ghanpur, Dharmasagar, Raghu-nathpalli, Zaffergadh, Cheriyal, Maddur, Narmetta, Bachan-napet, Jangaon, Ling-ala Ghanpur and Narsimhulapet were declared as drought-hit.

As against the normal rainfall of 748.3 mm in the months of July, August and September, only 498.6 mm of rainfall was registered. Later, in the month of October the rainfall further declined with 17.2 mm rainfall against the normal 86.5 mm and in November so far it is just 2.1 mm against 21.7. In the month of June, there was heavy rainfall giving hope of a good Kharif season.
