Amala to star in Tamil remake of Nil Battey Sannata

Actress Amala Paul has always been quite choosy about her roles, and especially post-marriage, she didn’t accept many films. And yes, Pasanga 2 was an exception as she got a powerful role to play. The recent buzz is that she has now been approached for the remake of the Hindi film, Nil Battey Sannata and looks like she has agreed to work on it. If this materialises, Dhanush and Amala will work together again after Velai Illa Pattadhari — not as co-stars, though — Dhanush will be jointly producing the movie along with Anand Rai. The film revolves around the story of a single mother battling to ensure that her daughter has every opportunity in life. Amala will play the role of the daughter in this film, while Revathi is likely to play her mother.

Sources say she may begin shooting for the film from next month. One may recall that Dhanush made his B’town debut with Raanjhanaa with Anand Rai at the helm. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who also directed the original film, will direct this Tamil remake. Nil Battey Sannata has also made it to numerous film festivals.
