DGP says department wants to promote transparency

Rajahmundry: Police to introduce e-governance to make the administration paper less initially in all districts in the state and later at range and higher level in a phased manner.

State Director General of Police J.V. Ramudu disclosed this during his visit here on Saturday to set stone for construction of CID regional office. He said that they had already launched e-office at Eluru in West Godavari on Friday.

Explaining about the advantages in paper less administration, he said that the movement of the files would be transparent and quick and avoid any delay in decision making on certain issues.

He said that they were availing technology and providing professional training to the personnel to make the department to function in a more effective manner.

The DGP said, “After the bifurcation of the state, the entire set up in the state police headqu-arters is disturbed. Even though we have time to set the things right for a period of 10 years in the common capital of Hyderabad as per AP Reorg-anisation Act, 2014, we are shifting the departments one-by-one to AP for administrative convenience. As part of it, we have set up a CID office in Guntur and another one is coming up in Rajahmundry. We will also set up offices for various wings of the department in AP in a phased manner.”

Fielding a volley of questions from the newsmen, the DGP said that the Maoists movement in common border areas of AP and other states was palpable and added that they were taking all steps to regulate their movement.
