VS Achuthanandan blasts Oommen Chandy on secularism

He says chief minister is Congress during the day and RSS in the night
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leader of the Opposition V. S. Achuthanandan on Friday said that Nitish Kumar wouldn't have invited Oommen Chandy to his swearing-in ceremony had he known the Chief Minister's true face.
In a statement here, Achuthanandan alleged that Chandy was "Congress during the day and RSS in the night". The chief minister has gone to Patna terming the Bihar verdict as a historic victory of democratic and secular forces over communal and fascist elements. "I fail to understand why Chandy is upbeat over the victory of the grand alliance headed by Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav?
The people of Kerala didn't hear a word from him against communal and fascist forces till date. He didn't utter a word when Kalburgi was killed in cold blood and Ikhlaq Ahmed was lynched in Dadri for allegedly eating beef. He was extra cautious in not causing any pain to the BJP till the recently concluded local body poll. He chose to remain silent on the SNDP-BJP alliance," Achuthanandan said.
Achuthanandan said everyone in the state was aware that Chandy had always pampered the Sangh Parivar.
He made Sangh Parivar happy by withdrawing the cases against Praveen Togadia who is known for spitting communal venom and the RSS-ABVP criminals who made an attempt on the life of a police officer in MG College. "It is ridiculous that Chandy is now trying to derive pleasure from the Bihar verdict," Chandy said.
The opposition leader said Chandy's stand on secularism would be rejected by the people of the state with the contempt it deserved.
