Delhi student Chetan Kakkar bags Rs 1.27-crore job from Google

Kakkar will be joining Google in 2016 on completion of his course

Mumbai: Chetan Kakkar, a student from Delhi Technical University (DTU), has grabbed a job offer of $190,000 (Rs 1.27 crore) from tech giants Google, which is a new record for international placements for the university.

According to a media report, Kakkar (an alumnus of Springdales School, Pusa Road) is a final year information technology student at the university and will be joining Google after the completion of his course with an annual remuneration of Rs 1,25,74,200. The previous highest annual remuneration offered at the DTU campus was Rs 93 lakhs.

Both his parents are teachers at Delhi University. His father Subhash Kakkar is a professor of management studies, while his mother Rita Kakkar is part of the faculty of chemistry department. Kakkar has expressed his gratitude towards DTU, and is very excited to join the tech giants in California next year.

This is not the first incident where Google has made such a lucrative offer to an Indian student. In the past, Gaurav Aggarwal, a 21-year old B-tech student from IIT, Indore had been offered an annual package of Rs 1.7 crore by Google.
