TRS changed lives, says KCR

Mr Rao listed out the welfare schemes and flagship programmes

Warangal: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday asked the people not to believe what the Opposition says about the state government and instead think about how the TRS has brought about a change by taking care of the welfare of every citizen.

“We focused on electricity, drinking water, houses for the poor and essentials needed by the people of the state and worked accordingly. If you think I am wrong, punish us. If you think the Opposition parties are wrong, punish them,” he said.

Addressing a massive crowd at the Kakatiya Arts and Science College in Hanamkonda, Mr Rao listed out the welfare schemes and flagship programmes his government launched.

“We are giving you 24x7 electricity, which no other government had done before. By 2018, there will not be a power cuts at all. Farmers will get nine-hour electricity during the daytime. I myself promised that I will not ask for votes if we failed to give water to every household in three years. Has any CM made a promise like this?” he asked.

The CM slammed the Opposition, saying it is misleading the people by spreading false news and asked if the TD or BJP ever cared for the people of TS. “For 58 years, TD and Congress ruled this state and their wrongdoings cannot be undone in just one year. Where were the leaders who are speaking against me today during the Telangana struggle?” he asked.

KCR banks on poll surveys

Despite all Bihar poll surveys going awry, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao continues to bank heavily on his election surveys as he prepares for the forthcoming bypolls and other elections.

Mr Rao had recently got a survey done in Sanathnagar Assembly constituency where the bypoll will be held after the resignation of minister T. Srinivas Yadav, who defected to the TRS from the Telugu Desam, is accepted.

“The CM got a survey done by a private agency on public mood towards the ruling party in Sanathnagar. The report was favourable to the TRS and the party will win hands down if elections are held,” a minister told this correspondent.

The minister said that contrary to reports in a section of media, the TRS is quite strong in some of the city pockets. He said that contrary to reports, Mr Yadav is way ahead of others in the Sanathnagar Assembly constituency. The CM had also got surveys done for Narayankhed Assembly constituency and the Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll.
