Princess Mashadi Begum was buried at the Paigah Tombs

Hyderabad: Princess Mashadi Begum, the favorite daughter of Nizam VII, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, passed away on Monday due to chronic illness. Princess Mashadi Begum was the second last daughter of the Nizam and the eldest daughter from his wife Laila Begum.

Born in September, 1939, she was the wife of Paigah noble late Mahmood Jah and is survived by two sons and two daughters. The deceased’s two elder sons, Mumtaz Jah and Musharraf Ali Khan, died during her lifetime.

“Princess Mashadi Begum and her family protected the entire property bequeathed to her by her late father. She lived in the Mumtaz Palace, King Kothi,” said Mohammed Safiullah, an expert on the history of Hyderabad.

Mashadi Begum’s brother Fazal Jah Bahadu, the last surviving son of the Nizam, and many of her close relatives gathered at the Mumtaz Palace to pay their last respects.

The Namaz-e-Janaza was performed after Ishan prayers at Masjid-e-Judi, King Kothi, the final resting place of her father. Princess Mashadi Begum was buried at the Paigah Tombs, besides to her husband.
