Hubballi: A thirteen-year old girl was gangraped by three men in the agriculture produce marketing committee (APMC) yard in Dharwad on Monday.
Among the rapists, the police have identified twenty-five year old youth Kumar who is the driver of a private tourist vehicle. The incident has occurred in the morning and the mother of the girl has lodged a complaint at suburban police station. The girl has been undergoing treatment at district hospital.
The police have launched search operation for all the three men who are absconding after the incident occurred in the morning. Suburban police inspector Channakeshav said that the investigation is underway and a team has been formed to nab the culprit.
The police officials said that the girl has received serious injuries after she was severely beaten by the miscreants. The sources also said that she was kidnapped from her residence before raping her.
