Director Aneesh Upasana is getting all set to tickle — not the taste buds — the funny bone of the Malayali audience through his upcoming film Kinder Joyee. The film has nothing chocolaty about it but is the name of two characters Kinder and Joyee.
Aneesh says, “Joyee will be played by Shine Tom Chacko and Kinder is yet to be finalised. Shine will play a man who has a small job but wants to make money. Though he wants to become rich he does not want to adopt any short cuts to make money but wants to earn it legitimately. He is also someone who will help everyone in need. The story looks at how Shine takes a big risk for the heroine and the circumstances and repercussions after that.”
Aneesh had earlier directed two films, Matinee which was based on a realistic subject and Seconds which was a thriller, but this, he informs, will be a full length entertainer with humour present throughout the film.
Aneesh adds that there are only positive characters in the film and no negative situations. Speaking about attempting comedy, Aneesh says, “In real life, I crack a lot of jokes and love humour so I thought of doing something that is reflective of my personality. There is a lot of situational comedy and the camera is also handled by me, so the subject can take shape exactly according to what I have in mind! Each film has taught me something and I have come to understand that it is laughter that people need in their life.”
The locations will be Pune, Nasik, Mumbai and Kochi and the hunt for the other cast is still on.
