New Delhi: Defending champions Vishnu Vardhan and Prerna Bhambri stayed on course to retain their titles in the Fenesta Open national tennis championships at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association complex here on Friday.
Vishnu needed all his experience to get past V.M. Ranjeet 6-4, 7-6 (7/4) in the men’s semi-finals while Prerna, three-time Fenesta champion, showed the door to top seed Sneha-devi Reddy 6-0, 6-3.
Vishnu will run into Sriram Balaji in the final. Balaji, who had to qualify for the Fenesta nationals was tested by the hard-working Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash before prevailing 7-6 (7/4), 6-4. Prerna meets Sai Samitha Chamarthi for the women’s crown.
