Congress VP will decipher cracks in Karnataka unit of the party: B S Yeddyurappa

He told the media in Bagalkot that internal bickering has reached its pinnacle in the state unit

HUBBALLI: BJP vice president B S Yeddyurappa said on Friday that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi would realise the truth about sorry state of affairs in the state unit of the party in Karnataka during his two-day tour.

He told the media in Bagalkot that internal bickering has reached its pinnacle in the state unit, and the group led by former CM S M Krishna was upset with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's style of governance. Denying that BJP was afraid of the outcome of Mr Rahul Gandhi's tour as stated by veteran leader Mr Mallikarjun Kharge, he said several ministers themselves were worried about losing their berth in cabinet. Mr Siddaramaiah himself was behaving like the high command, causing much resentment among party leaders in the state.

"State Congress leaders are fighting against each other as they are fed up with Mr Siddaramaiah's style of functioning. It is not possible for Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi to resolve internal squabbling in the state unit of Congress. The anger against the Chief Minister within the party has been growing", Mr Yeddyurappa added.

Reacting to election of new state unit president of BJP, he claimed that he will work hard as an ordinary worker to bring the party back to power in Karnataka.

Urging the state government to waive loans and interest taken by the farmers following drought in the state, he said that Congress leaders are misleading the people about implementation of Kalasa Banduri project.
