Endorphins are hormones that are released by the pituitary gland that have motivational benefits. Many long-distance runners experience frequent rushes of endorphin release.

We show with the help of a fitness expert on how one can get an endorphin high the right way. Endorphins are released within the body while it is experiencing excitement, pain, and believe it or not, sometimes when you consume spicy foods. Swimming, dancing, raising pets, staying positive, sky diving, eating chocolates, protein, carbs and spicy food, listening to music, EIO (exercise induced orgasm) and massage, all have one thing in common—a quick endorphin rush.

Running or cycling: Marathon runners experience great pain after pushing for many miles. As the runner focuses on running high, the endorphins release and enable them to sail through the next set of miles. When your body crosses over from an aerobic state to an anaerobic state, it’s suddenly operating without enough oxygen to satisfy the muscles and cells screaming out for it. This is when the “runner’s high” occurs. Also, increase in intensity of cycling leads to increase in the levels of endorphin release in the body. Cycling for 30 to 45 minutes can cause endorphin release.

Ice skaters: The most contemporary fitness equipment—is ViPR. ViPR fosters whole body integration (WBI) workouts. It considers the whole body as ‘one muscle’, since the whole body is covered by one ‘fascia’. With the ViPR in front of the hips, step laterally (sideways) and make sure your whole foot is grounded. With the opposite hand tilt the ViPR till it is at almost a 90 degree to the ground. Now spring back to the start position and repeat on the opposite side. It’s an awesome way to let endorphin rush.

Kettlebell swings: Start with kettlebell down between your legs and, using your arms as a pendulum, swing the bell to eye level by powering through with your hips and legs while keeping your core tight as you stand up straight. Swing back down and repeat. Proper form is important. You will need to hinge and drive through the hip to get the swing going with least effort from the arms.

Weight training: Exercise can boost your mood by elevating endorphin levels. More specifically, you will receive the greatest endorphin release, and psychological reward, when performing the longest and most difficult workouts in your training regimen. Weight training provides us with the knowledge and tools to not only to trim our waist line, but to live a happier life.
