The government extends Rs 51,000 financial assistance to SC/ ST/ minority families to perform marriages of their daughters

Hyderabad: As many as 41,123 girls from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes besides 20,495 girls from minority communities have benefited from the Telangana government’s Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes, launched in October last year. The government extends Rs 51,000 financial assistance to SC/ ST/ minority families to perform marriages of their daughters under the schemes.
The government the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday that 26,840 SCs and 14,283 STs were extended the benefit till September 26, this year. The entire process, from application to verification, approval and release of money, has been made online, it said.
