Talking to reporters, here on Monday, Rayalaseema Rashtra Samiti president K. Vekata Subba Reddy has threatened to launch a state-wide agitation demanding separate Rayalaseema. He said apart from the existing four districts in Rayalaseema region-Krishnagiri, Rayavellore, Bellary and Raichur should be part of the new state.
Mr Reddy said the activists of their outfit will also take the stir to Delhi. He demanded Rs 10 lakh crore special fund for Rayalaseema region, completion of irrigation projects on river Krishna as per the riparian rights, provision of basic infrastructure, before carving out separate Rayalaseema state. “Rayalaseema has always been neglected and it has increased after bifurcation of the state.
