Lucknow: The nine-year-old boy charged with the rape of a six-year-old girl in Pilibhit district has been sent to a juvenile home in Bareilly district after the medical examination of the girl confirmed sexual assault.
A case has also been registered against the minor boy under the SC/ST Act since the girl belongs to the Jatav community. The boy was presented before the magistrate and he has accepted the charges.
Nirmal Bisht, the circle officer, said that the incident took place on Thursday, when the two children were playing in a field. The girl had gone out to buy chocolate and the boy asked her to come and play with him. He took her to a nearby field, where he raped her.
When girl returned home, she was crying in pain and bleeding. She then narrated the entire incident to her mother. The boy, along with his family, had been on the run since the incident came to light on Thursday. He was finally arrested on Friday night.
“The boy looked quite scared. His first reaction to police questioning was, ‘khel khel mein ho gaya,” said an investigating officer. According to the police spokesman, the boy is the youngest person ever to be booked on rape charges.
