Modi hold talks with Obama on sidelines of UNGA summit

Modi will also hold bilateral meeting with French President Francois Hollande

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who met British Prime Minister David Cameron in New York earlier on Monday, also held bilateral talks with US President Barack Obama.

The meetings have also been scheduled with a number of other world leaders including French President Francois Hollande, Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Silicon Valley in more than three decades. During his weekend stay, he visited the campuses of Tesla, Facebook and Google, and held a series of meetings with top Silicon Valley CEOs including Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Modi's meeting with the British Prime Minister David Cameron was a last minute addition, the official said. In addition to these bilateral meetings, Modi will attend a lunch hosted by UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and address a United Nations summit convened by Obama on UN Peacekeeping.
