Ramadoss said that Anbumani would take the PMK’s draft poll manifesto to all parts of the state

TIRUCHY: The Pattali Makkal Katchi's (PMK) chief ministerial candidate Dr Anbumani Ramadoss said the 2016 election to the Tamil Nadu Assembly would be a triple-fold battle of “disappointments versus change, a corrupt regime versus a corruption-free government and theatrical gimmicks versus real schemes that are feasible.”
Addressing a political conference of ‘Mathiya mandalam (central zone)’ at Tiruchy on Sunday night, Anbumani said it was the people who have to decide on these issues and appealed to the electorate to give a chance to PMK which he vowed would provide good governance for the people of Tamil Nadu.
He charged that the DMK was now copying the policies of the PMK in the matter of prohibition and other issues mentioned in the party's draft manifesto released by PMK’s founder Dr S. Ramadoss recently.
Taking a dig at the DMK president M. Karunanidhi and his son M.K. Stalin, Anbumani said they were also “copying the announcement of the PMK” that the first signature by a new Chief Minister after the polls, if voted to power, would be on a government order introducing total prohibition in the state. But no other party except the PMK had a right to demand total prohibition, he claimed.
Stating that it was time to bring about change to rescue Tamil Nadu from the “clutches of the two major Dravidian parties”, he cautioned that otherwise the state would plunge into abysmal depths. Tamil Nadu could not boast of an ancient past, as its recent history was replete with scams and scandals, he sought to rub in.
The PMK youth wing leader said that at present the choice before the people for the coming Assembly elections was “between the devil and deep sea and Doctor (Anbumani)”, adding, people would have to decide.
The party’s founder-leader Dr S. Ramadoss said that Anbumani would take the PMK’s draft poll manifesto to all parts of the state, discuss it with people from all walks of life and the final manifesto will be released as a ‘People’s Charter (Makkal Sasanam)’ during January next year. The PMK president G.K. Mani and senior functionaries including Kaduvetti Guru were among those who spoke at the conference.
