Amaravati foundation laying to be a mega event

GUNTUR: The state government has started the search for a suitable place to conduct foundation laying programme for new capital Amaravati. The CRDA and revenue officials have primarily selected a place between Venkatapalem and Mandadam. According to sources, AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu's Vastu advisor M. Raghavaiah will finalise the place after ground inspection. The programme would be held on October 22 in which PM Narendra Modi and several other VIPs will participate.
Earlier on June 6, Mr Naidu conducted the land puja on the survey number 136 at Mandadam of Tullur mandal. Mandadam, located towards east direction of new capital, is considered auspicious by the vastu advisors. According to TD sources, the CM conducted discussions regarding the selection of an auspicious place and consulted ministers, TD leaders and officials to finalise the best place according to vastu and astrology.
Meanwhile, TD sources informed that Sankhusthapana would be held near the venue of land puja within a radius of 2.5 km to 10 km towards the east direction of Mandadam. Mr Raghavaiah had earlier selected the land puja venue and TD cadres are confident about the success of Sankhusthapana too. Mr Raghavaiah would visit Mandadam and Vekatap-alem within the next couple of days and select the place for Sankhusthapana, said sources.
Tullur tahsildar A. Sudheerbabu said Guntur collector Kantilal Dande would inspect the lands for Sankhusthapana and submit a report to government.
Mandadam in Limelight:
Mandadam village situated in the middle of capital region has come under limelight, thanks to the news of land puja for capital and CRDA headquarters being held here doing the rounds.
The village is much talked about nowadays because of the Sankhusthapana scheduled on October 22 in which PM Narendra Modi, delegates from Japan, Singapore, China and Britain would participate. The village has a population of 6,600 with 2,000 houses. It is an agriculture-based village. Majority farmers of the village have pooled lands under LPS.
