The film is directed by debutant Swamiraja
Seems like film titles in K’town today are decided to pique the interest of the audience, even if it has no bearing on the script whatsoever. One such film is Yogiyan Varaan Sombai Thooki Ulla Vai, which is touted to be a full-fledged comedy. The film is directed by debutant Swamiraja.
Director Singampuli who has worked with Ajith and Suriya and is now a full time successful comedian has been roped in for the titular role ‘Yogiyan’. Set at a rural backdrop, it is about a romantic couple from two villages who are always at loggerheads. Vijay Nagaraj and Priya Menon play the role of the couple. The crux of the plot is about how Yogiyan, who is reputed to be a cheat and a gasbag helps the lovers unite, claims the director. “While shooting for a comedy scene in Jameen Devar Kulam, a huge crowd had gathered to watch the shoot. We had a difficult time in controlling them and maintaining silence, since everyone was laughing loudly with each and every antic of Singampuli’s performance,” a unit hand reveals.
