Hyderabad: Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has not yet carried out re-marking of the British Era Roman Catholic Bowenpally cemetery as had been assured earlier.
The cemetery authorities are willing to give 15 feet of land in return of land in some other place or compensation from the Board, but the SCB CEO has yet not taken a decision on this.
Condemning the demolition act by the SCB, the Catholic Christian Association members stated in a letter: “As per our knowledge, widening of the road should take place from the middle of the road on either side. Whereas in the present case, the widening is taking place only on our side. In the present case, the widening is three times more than the adjacent structures.”
The SCB CEO had assured the members that he would visit the site on Wednesday but however, finally no inspection was conducted.
