Strong education is a must for Bangaru Telangana: Pocharam Srinivas Reddy

District education department celebrated Teachers’ Day

Nizamabad: Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that strong educational foundation is vital for achieving Bangaru Telangana. He called upon the teaching fraternity to prepare the government school students on par with the corporate educational institutions.

District education department celebrated Teachers’ Day here at New Ambedkar Bhavan on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that Chief Minister K. Chand-rasekhar Rao discussed modalities of KG to PG education with intellectuals. He said that respecting the teachers is mandatory as their services are priceless.

Mr Srinivas Reddy recalled his student days and his teachers who guided him at every step. He said education in government schools should improve to compete with children from other schools. MLC V.G. Goud, ZP chairman D. Raju, mayor Akula Sujatha, collector Yogitha Rana, DEO Lingaiah spoke on the occasion.

The guests felicitated the 21 best teachers at district level with a shawl and mementoes. Meanwhile, Prof. Anumandla Bhumaiah, former vice-chancellor of the Telugu University said, “Teachers need to have a passion for teaching then only they will do justice to the noble profession of teaching.”

Delivering the keynote address at the Teachers’ Day celebrations on Telangana University campus, he said that the teachers should not restrict themselves to the syllabus; instead they should open up the world of windows to the students.

He said that it was the impact of his teachers like Diwakarla Venkata-vadhani, Narayana Rao, and C. Narayana Reddy that has made him interested in Telugu literature. Prof. Bhumaiah said that there must be a rethink on relations between the teacher and his students.
