Fervour marks Krishnashtami in Tirupati

Many from temple town and surrounding areas visited the temple

Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has geared up to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami in Tirupati and Tirumala on September 6 and 7 with a series of interesting events.

On Sunday, ceremonious events like Abhishekam to the presiding deity of Sri Venugopala Swamy, Gopuja and cultural events will be observed in a grand manner on the premises of Sri Venkateswara Goshala in Tirupati.

On the same day in Tirumala, abhishekam will be performed to Sri Kaliyamardhana Krishna located in Gogarbham Gardens from 11 am onwards followed by Utlotsavam.

While on the same day night Sri Krishna Janma-shtami Asthanam will be observed at Bangaru Vakili in Tirumala temple. On September 7, the fun-filled event Utlotsavam will be observed at various places in Tirumala starting from the area exactly opposite Tirumala temple.

The processional deities of Sri Krishna Swamy and Sri Malayappa Swamy will also be taken in two separate Tiruchis to all the places where Utlotsavam is performed. Local youth and pilgrims enthusiastically will take part in this fete.

Meanwhile, TTD has cancelled all Arjitha Sevas starting from Kalyanotsavam to Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Monday following this event which will be observed between 1 pm and 5 pm.

Meanwhile, Krishnash-tami was celebrated in Tirupati with pomp and gaiety, while religious fervour marked the occasion with devotees thronging the temples since early morning.

Many temples, mainly, Iskcon temple management celebrated this fiesta elegantly. The presiding deity Radha Govinda Ashtasakhi Vrinda decorated with dazzling ornaments and various hues of flowers for the darshan of devotees.

Tens of thousands of devotees had a darshan of the Lord since morning to late night. The temple management provided all facilities required for the devotees coming to temple on this auspicious day.

The youth event Utlotsavam in which many were participated from across the temple town and gave very good spectacle to the spectators who thronged in the TTD grounds in front of the temple.

Batches of youth competed with each other to own the gift tied 20 feet above a wooden beam. Many from temple town and surrounding areas visited the temple to have a glimpse of Lord Krishna.
