2,000 jain businessmen to lead a monk’s life on September 6

Hyderabad: Over 2,000 Jain CEOs, industrialists, businessmen and professionals will lead the life of monks in Kacheguda on September 6.

Those who join Bikshu Daya will don a monk’s attire, and carry a special broom. They will stay away from homes and in the presence of their gurus, Vinay Muni, Gautam Muni, Sanja Muni and Sagar Muni.

“For a day, they will not use any modern comforts and luxuries. They will spend the day in prayer, maintain silence and beg for food. They will not use electricity as it involves violence,” the gurus said.

The event will be held from 7 am to 10 pm at the Shri Poonamchand Gandhi Jain Sthanka, which is opposite to the Kachiguda railway station.
