Stir made CM drop cheap liquor: Telugu Desam Party

The TTDP district chief flayed the govt for not extending support to farming community
KARIMNAGAR: Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) district president Ch. Vijayaramana Rao claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his team backtracked on introduction of cheap liquor following their party’s widespread protests and opposition from various sections of society.
He was speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday. Mr Vijayaramana Rao said the government had to withdraw its decision to introduce cheap liquor due to numerous protests by public organisations, women, toddy tappers and activists of the the TTDP. “We will continue to fight against anti-people policies of the TRS,” he said.
The TTDP district chief flayed the government for not extending support to the distressed farming community. He wondered how the agriculture minister could claim that no bank was charging interest on loans taken by farmers.
“Did any bank sanction loans to farmers without collecting interest on credit given in the past? The TD is ready to share the details of the amount taken towards interest by banks. Is any public representative of the TRS or official ready to debate on this?” he questioned.
Ex-Peddapalli MLA lashed out at the government for not taking preventive steps to control spread of epidemics. He demanded the government to convene a review meeting with officials concerned over outbreak of seasonal diseases.
