University of Hyderabad replies on two issues

The university takes utmost care in dealing with sensitive matters with outside agencies

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad administration replied on Tuesday to the two separate protests which were organised in the campus by students and teachers of the varsity on Monday.

The students had protested against police intervention in the university to which the university said that there has neither been a single raid by the police on the campus nor any illegal detention of the students so far.

It further said, “The law of the land shall not be compromised within the jurisdiction of the university in the interest of its entire fraternity, including teaching, officers, non-teaching staff and above all the students. The university takes utmost care in dealing with sensitive matters with outside agencies.”

Protesting against police entering university campus, the students had alleged on Monday in their protest that a committee formed by the university had concluded that police should not enter the campus.

However, the university administration said in its reply that the committee is yet to conduct its third meeting before submitting a final report. The VC of the university, Prof. R.P. Sharma also refuted charge of the UoHTA that he denied to meet them at 11am.
